Bittersweet Boutique, located in beautiful downtown Salem, Oregon, opened in August 2008. Carrying only the latest, high-quality clothing and accessories, it was opened to offer a Los Angeles style shopping experience not previously available in the Salem area. Started by Teresa Standish and Shannon Williams, Bittersweet Boutique has become a huge hit among fashion savvy consumers in the know.
The boutique was designed with sophistication, comfort and convenience in mind, and offers a distinctive shopping experience that is usually only seen in big cities. If you're looking for the latest trends, or fashion basics, chances are you will find an answer just within the doors of Bittersweet Boutique. In addition to the unique shopping experience, the boutique also offers monthly specials, VIP parties and other monthly events, fashion advice and personal shopping with the customers satisfaction in mind.

I own this fabulous place with my even more fabulous daughter, Shannon. This fulfills a life long dream of mine and I am enjoying it!
I feel like my strongest areas are helping women that are looking to change up their look a bit, and also finding items for the petite gal. The best part about having this boutique is the awesome people that I meet, I feel like my customers are my friends too, and I want them to always feel special when they come in here, because they are!
Other things I love to do away from the boutique are spend time with my honey, especially going for rides on his Harley! I also love hanging out with my kids and grandkids, doing martial arts, weight lifting and pretty much any form of physical exercise. Of course, I love to shop, my sisters and I can really do some damage to our credit cards when we go out together! We enjoy supporting other small businesses in the area, whether it be boutiques or the many awesome places to eat in the area.

Opening Bittersweet Boutique with my Mom, Teresa has been a huge blessing. Our shop is my home away from home. Every item in the boutique is a refection of my mom and me. We very carefully choose what goes into the shop with our awesome customers in mind! I love this place beacuse it makes me feel like more a part of my community and I can contribute to putting a smile on everyone's face when they come in here. For me its never how "big" or "small" the sale is; it's about buliding a relationship with our customers! Some of our customers have become my great friends -what more could I ask for!?
I also am a wife to a great husband and a mommy to a sweet little girl! Add in two dogs and two cats and I stay pretty busy, but wouldn't have it any other way! Thank you to all of our fabulous customers!

I have worked for Bittersweet Boutique since July of 2010. Bittersweet Boutique gives me the perfect opportunity to work with a local business while connecting to the national and global fashion world. I love contributing to the culture of Salem all the while helping women to look and feel their best. We all have a unique style within us we just need a little help to bring it out sometimes! I excel at helping some of our taller customers especially but I can help just about anybody with any size or shape find a look and fit that works for them. In addition, I manage the boutique's Facebook page and website which gives me that creative outlet that everyone needs at their job!
In my spare time I enjoy just relaxing with my husband in the sun somewhere or hiking in the mountains with friends. I'm also an avid runner, weight lifter, and cyclist.

I started working at Bittersweet in April of 2011. I tend to make more bold fashion statements. I really enjoy helping people find pieces of clothing that they were hesitant to try on, but in the end fall in love with!

Friday June 10th Bella Via Hair Glitz Party

Heard of Bella Via Glitz hair extensions? Check out their website! http://www.bellaviahair.com. We carry the hair extensions in the boutique now and this Friday we're having a hair glitz party! $1 for each individual piece we put in your hair or buy a whole pack and we'll put in 5 for free! Light refreshments will be served and you can shop while you sip!
Every Wednesday Downtown First Wednesday
5-8 pm
Bittersweet Boutique is a participator in downtown Salem's First Wednesday events. Check the Statesman Journal on the first Wednesday of every month to read about special events or coupons. Bittersweet Boutique will have extended hours on these Wednesdays through the summer.
